Musicians We'll Miss - 2016
It's hard to believe the first month of 2017 is already behind us. I'm new to the blogging world, but the world of music is my life, so before I get too deep into 2017, I want to take a moment to remember, and pay homage to, some of the great musicians we lost in 2016.
DAVID BOWIE - January 10, 2016 - age 69
GLENN FREY - January 17, 2016 - age 67
PAUL KANTER - February 4, 2016, - age 74
MAURICE WHITE - February 4, 2016 - age 74
KEITH EMERSON - March 11, 2016 - age 71
MERLE HAGGARD - April 6, 2016 - age 79
PRINCE - April 20, 2016 - age 57
LEONARD COHEN - November 10, 2016 - age 82
LEON RUSSELL - November 13, 2016 - age 74
GREG LAKE - December 7, 2016 - age 69
GEORGE MICHAEL - December 25, 2016 - age 53
These musicians, as well as those I have overlooked, will be deeply missed. Fortunately, their music will live forever. Please feel free to comment, remind me of the artists who aren't on this list (an opportunity to listen to music I haven't heard yet), and maybe share your favorite tune for each artist. Music lives forever!

Who have I forgotten and what have these artist meant to you?
Thank you for reminding us what a sad year it has been. Bowie, Frey, Cohen and Prince were the hardest for me, personally. However, I will miss them all. Also, thank you for providing your music to accompany this blog. eframbes
Losing Prince was a total shock, and when the media began playing all of his songs after his death, I realized I didn't really like his music very much. He did a lot of obscure stuff that's not my style. I think I was a fan of his image, his mystery, his persona. But I, most definitely, respect all he's done for the industry and appreciate all his contributions. My Favorite Prince Song: Nothing Compares to You, written by Prince, performed by Sinead O'Connor.
