One World

A collection of 15 original compositions, which celebrate the unity and diversity of our world community.

This album celebrates the unity and diversity of our world community. There’s a wide range of musical colors on the pallet of this project, from energetic toe tappers to introspective quiet moments; from the power of “A Gathering of the Elders” to the restful meditation of “Benediction (Prayer for World Peace)”. The sampling of musical locations includes Native North America, China, Australia, India, Spain, Persia, Africa, Japan, the United States, Scotland, and Germany.

There are many who say our world is in turmoil. Yet, in times of challenge and struggle, there is also opportunity for positive change, for healing and unity. May we focus on what we want for our world and not what we fear may happen. Positivity breeds more positivity; negativity breeds more negativity. May we always choose love, and always seek the light.

Paradise Lost

Michael Stribling

In cart Not available Out of stock

"Paradise Lost" solemnly commemorates the displacement of the Native American peoples at the hands of the "white man" in three acts, or movements: paradise, in the "before days"; the coming of the white man, and the resulting conflict; and requiem.

Paradise Lost solemnly commemorates the displacement of the Native American peoples at the hands of the "white man" (primarily of European descent).

The first section portrays the Land as the Native Americans enjoyed it for generations, and it celebrates Paradise in all its diverse splendor—a dawn on the prairie, a look at the land through the eyes and heart of a Guardian of the Plains, the heartbeat of the forest, the soaring vantage point of the eagle, the steady flow of the life-giving water, and the strutting prowess and power of warriors on the hunt.

The second section starts with the approach of the white man, on their march to destiny, and the Natives' awareness of an approaching storm of conflict with those who would take their land. A Vision Quest follows, where the people seek wisdom to guide them. Ultimately, there is the inevitable show down between two opposing forces, and the battle for supremacy and possession of the land.

The final section laments the tragedy of Paradise Lost, and pays homage to those who battled and lost their lives and homes. In the end, from a higher perspective—whether young or old, whether slain in battle or passing peacefully in their sleep—at the end of a life cycle all souls return to the spirit world, from whence we all come and to which we all return.

This project was inspired in part by a couple of movies, "Last of the Mohicans" and "Dances with Wolves", which provide a different view of Native Americans than most movies of the last century. While Native Americans are not the only displaced people in the history of humankind, I have a particular affinity for the first nations of this land ... and for their Paradise Lost.

The Promise

Michael Stribling

In cart Not available Out of stock

ZMR Music Award Winner, The Promise follows Everyman's Journey from the hustle and bustle of daily living to the anticipation and promise of the great beyond. Fourteen original compositions cover the gamut of yang and yin, and the transition from life to Life.

Everyman's Journey

Everyman awakens to a "Bright New Day", full of promise and anticipation. Embracing the hustle and bustle of "Daily Living" (on the job, to and from school, at home), Everyman engages life with the linear thinking and "Angular Reasoning" required to function in this Manifest Domain.

Everything changes "When Love Comes Near", beckoning Everyman back to the Unmanifest reality. And "Late One Night", Everyman begins the transition, "Facing the Great Unknown", with the etheric body leaving the physical body and its memories behind, like some "Forgotten Dreams".

On the other side, waiting breathlessly with "Love's Anticipation", are other soul-selves. But first, Everyman must cross over to the other side, rising to higher levels, as though "Ascending through Clouds". Along the way, the self experiences "Expansion", as it steps back up to its former glory, before it downsized into human form in this last incarnation.

Finally, the soul reaches the "Distant Shores" of its destination, where Everyman is reminded of "The Promise": there is no death; only life. "At the Last", the soul is safe; the self is home. When, or whether, Everyman returns to the linear domain, for another round of life, love, and learning, is yet to be decided. And it will be ... "All in Good Time".

Instrumental new age music that celebrates the hope and promise of new love, the energizing beauty of light, and the sustaining power of water.

Released in June 2008, "Love, Light, and Water" celebrates the hope and promise of new love, the energizing beauty of light, and the sustaining power of water. Fifteen original instrumental compositions form three mini-suites, and all songs are calming and meditative.

"… his best work yet. … Some of it is quite melodic, and other pieces are more ambient and atmospheric—all of it is very beautiful." -- Kathy Parsons, MainlyPiano.com

"… a mystical revelation of peace, solemnity, and mystery, resulting in a musical journey that fuses the boundaries of New Age and neoclassical music. … simply beautiful music." -- Raj Manoharan

Another Day In Paradise

Michael Stribling

In cart Not available Out of stock

Instrumental new age music that celebrates the themes of a typical day in paradise: processions and celebration; morning, afternoon, and evening; the land, ocean, and sky; youth; spiritual/physical union; and dance

"Another Day in Paradise" is the second release for 2007, following on the heels of "Out of the Darkness, Into the Light", which reached #2 in its first month of release (New Age Reporter, January 2007). Literally picking up where the previous CD ended, "Another Day in Paradise" offers 11 instrumental new age compositions (okay, there are a couple of vocal tracks hidden away in there someplace) that celebrate the major themes of a typical day in paradise.

"His composing and performing skills continue to impress me … this is his best release to date … Stribling takes the listener on a musical voyage that alternately invigorates and soothes but always entertains … The album rates a solid recommendation from me and I look forward to much more from this artist …" Bill Binkelman, New Age Reporter

"I like his newest work even more. There is something energetic about it. Also something comforting with a bit of promise in every track. … Michael’s blend of atmospheric tracks is the musical panacea we have been looking for … floating music that enfolds the listener like a melodious embrace. … Michael’s music lets you actually feel the warmth of sun and wind, the slow moving shadows of leafy trees and the sweet smells of oranges as the day progresses. ... This is the third album of Michael’s music I have reviewed and as I said, it is my favorite." RJ Lannan, New Age Reporter

"This is a truly masterful work …" Raj Manoharan

Songs of Hope and Healing

Michael Stribling

In cart Not available Out of stock

A 2006 Lifestyle Music Award Winner, this CD is a collection of 12 instrumental compositions that reflect a variety of moods and styles, e.g., percussive, meditative, dramatic orchestral, driving rhythmic, introspective, uplifting "heart" music

After a hiatus of about 25 years (I changed careers there for a while), I returned to my bliss a little over a year ago and started blowing the dust off my old studio gear and adding some new equipment. I began summoning the Muse back into my life, spent some time in meditation, and some more time under headphones. The result of that process is this album. I hope you enjoy it.

Apparently, the reviewers at New Age Reporter like the CD. Here are a couple excerpts (you can read the full reviews at www.newagereporter.com):

"The CD is well performed and produced … Everything here is accessible and enjoyable from the get go" [Bill Binkelman]

"… offers a mix of electronic and contemplative tunes that are very palatable … a good balance of liveliness and feeling" [RJ Lannan]

"The serene New Age tracks are the album's strengths: "Peace at Sea," the nine-plus minute ode to the ocean with its waves of strings and opening water sounds, and the two ambient tracks, "New Day Dawning" and "Big Planets," with their broad and pastoral orchestrations all top the list" [Peter Manzi, Songs from the Ground Up]

This album reached the #1 spot on the New Age Reporter Top 100 List (July 2006) and won Best Electronic Album in the 2006 New Age Reporter Lifestyle Music Awards!

Journey Within

Michael Stribling

In cart Not available Out of stock

This long meditative piece has been used in a variety of settings: waiting rooms, massage therapy, yoga, hypnosis, etc. It's especially nice to put this on before you go to sleep at night

I originally wrote this meditative piece in 1988 as my very first MIDI tune in my very first MIDI studio. Heck, I didn't even have a keyboard at that time, so I wrote this composition completely out of my head. At first, I used it in my work with mental health clients for hypnosis, meditation, etc. From there, it developed from a 15-minute piece to an hour-long experience. From the feedback I've received over the years, it just seemed appropriate, and overdue, to share it with the world. It's really nice under headphones; try it, you'll hear what I mean.
